Profile |
|
Back in the 70's, Porsche envisaged that the 928 would be the successor the legendary 911. Obviously, it didn't work out that way! Both models continued on, with the 928 establishing a reputation as a very capable grand tourer, not to mention being voted car of the year for 1978.
The S4 version was launched in 1987 with a reshaped nose, re-designed tail lamps and a new separate rear spoiler to distinguish it from earlier models. The GT variant arrived in 1989 with an extra 10bhp followed by the 360bhp GTS in 1991, capable of 170mph in this guise.
