Profile |
|
Following on from the 1984 launch of the sixth generation Corvette, the ZR1 appeared in 1990. The Lotus designed all aluminium LT5 engine sat at the heart of the ZR1 and propelled it well into supercar territory with a top speed of 180mph and acceleration to 60mph in just 4.5 seconds.
Bodywork was restyled to match the new car's image with squared-off tail lamps and a wider track at the rear end (helping to generate an incredible 1.2g cornering force). The ZR1 was the fastest and some say greatest Corvette in the near 40 year history of an American icon.
