Profile |
|
The EB110 SS (SuperSport) boasted an incredible 611 bhp quad turbo V12, giving a verified top speed of 218mph. Bugatti claimed it to be the to be the worlds fastest production car (the McLaren F1's 231mph was 'unofficial' at the time). Specification included a 6-speed gearbox, carbon fibre chassis and quad turbos.
After just 118 examples were built, it looked like the fairytale was going to have an unhappy ending, with the overambitious Bugatti going bankrupt in 1995. However, VW stepped in and rescued the famous marque in 1998, with the promise of new models to come ... and they delivered with the legendary Veyron.
