Profile |
|
Produced as a road going replica of Colin McRae's world championship winning works car, the 22B was the most potent, and expensive, of the current crop of rally bred supercars.
Around 400 were built, all in Sonic Blue paintwork and gold alloys, and featured a mighty 345bhp engine - although power was officially quoted at 276bhp so as not to fall foul of Japanese government legislation at the time.
However, British roads did not suit this Impreza. An already hard ride was made unbearable by it's stiffer suspension. At £40k it was hard to justify the £18k difference over the standard Impreza let alone the equally capable Mitsubishi Evo VI.
