Profile |
|
A hardtop version of the Viper RT10 arrived in the form of the Viper GTS. First shown at the 1993 Detroit Motor Show, the new car made production from 1996.
The RT10's monster 8 litre was retained but with power boosted to a mighty 450bhp. This extra power, coupled with a sleeker body shape, made the GTS a genuine 180mph performer, although handling still wasn't on a par with it's European rivals.
If the GTS was too tame for your tastes then specialist company Hennessey could add Venom to your Viper with a further 200bhp for an 11.5sec standing quarter! A new 500bhp GTS is due in 2002.
