The Vision SLR concept shown at the 1999 Detroit Motor Show has now been given the go ahead for production, so expect to see it on a road near you early 2004!

Mercedes are to build the LHD only SLR in partnership with McLaren while the Supercharged V8 will be the responsibility of AMG. Styling and detailing are of the highest standard with extensive use of aluminium and carbon fibre not only in the cabin but also for weight saving bodywork and chassis materials.

The surprisingly cramped interior will be further enhanced by the use of mini shock absorbers beneath the seats to provide the ultimate in comfortable travel. The sensation will be further enhanced by computer controlled stability and braking control.
