Profile |
|
The GT5 continued the original Pantera's ethos of attractive European styling coupled with a powerful American V8, in this case a 5.7L Ford unit. While slightly up on power, the GT5 can be distinguished from the original by its aggressive bodywork with ground hugging skirts and massive Countach style rear wing.
Unassisted steering made manoeuvring the 13.5 inch rear wheels a Herculean task not helped by massively restricted rear vision. But performance was superb with a race car like roar from the powerful V8.
The GT5 (and GT5S variant) was only sporadically available towards the end of it's run, undergoing a Twin Turbo makeover with F40 style rear wing in 1990.
