The extraordinary Lagonda was first show at the 1976 Earls Court Motor Show. The futuristic styling was the work of William Towns and serves as the ultimate expression of the straight edge 'wedge' design of the period.
The onboard electronics were way ahead of their time with a digital dashboard, pushbutton gearchange and touch sensitive instrumentation. This new technology was not without it's problems and it took Aston Martin 2 years to get it right. Interior luxury was up to Aston Martin's usual impeccable standards with the finest hides, burr walnut and wilton carpets as standard.
The Lagonda was certainly different but didn't prove to be a commercial success as only 650 were made during it's 11 year run.
