Bugatti stunned the world in 2020 with the reveal of their ultimate track-only hypercar, the Bolide.
This track-only monster features Bugatti's famous 8-litre W16 engine, initially thought to output 1850hp, but more likely around the 1600hp mark. The original weight estimate of 1250Kg has now crept up to a still reasonable 1450kg, giving a power to weight ratio of over 1100bhp/ton!
Bugatti's predicted acceleration figures are astounding. 0-300kmh in 7.4 seconds and 0-400kmh in a ridiculous 12 seconds make this by far the quickest supercar ever created. Oh, and the top speed is said to be over 310mph! It must be noted that these are 'computer simulated' figures.
The extreme aero bodywork, wrapped around a carbon-fibre monocoque, makes even a Senna look mild. The Bolide generates 1800Kg of downforce at 200mph thanks to the gigantic rear spoiler with striking 'X-Wing' design. This goes some way to explaining the amazing 5:23 simulated Nurburgring lap time.
Bugatti originally classed the Bolide as a technological showcase concept, but have relented with a limited production run of 40 from 2024, priced at over £4m.
