For hardcore AMG fans Mercedes bought us the AMG GTR. But that was not hard enough, so out came the GTR Pro with it's track like handling. But no, that was still not raw enough! So Affalterbach have hit back with the ultimate harder than hard AMG GT, the Black Series.
This is the 6th AMG to carry the fabled 'Black' label, and the first for over 6 years since the achingly desirable SLS Black.
The GT's 4-litre twin-turbo V8 is boosted to 730hp, resulting in a 0-60mph dash in 3 seconds flat, while top speed now breaks the 200mph barrier for the first time in an AMG GT.
However, the Black is really all about the handling. GT3 class aerodynamics, carbon-ceramic brakes and Cup 2R tyres explain why it broke the production car lap record at the Nurburgring with a scorching 6:43 lap.
And now for the bad news. The looks are a little 'busy', it doesn't sound too good, and It costs a whopping £335k + options. This is a full £55k more than McLaren's 765LT, not to mention the £120k saving you would make going for a GT2RS instead. Despite the Ring record and the allure of the Black Series label, this cannot be considered value for money.
