Bugatti's latest derivation of the Chiron is the track focused Pur Sport, publicised as the ultimate driver's Bugatti.
Top speed has been sacrificed (although still a mighty 218mph) for quicker acceleration, with 15% shorter gear ratios. The hypercar benchmark 0-300kmh now takes just 11.6 seconds. Output from the quad-turbo W16 remains at 1500hp.
The Pur Sport is all about the handling. Kerb weight is down by 50kg, but this is still a near two-ton beast. However, Bugatti's engineers have somehow managed to create a tight, superb handling track weapon, while retaining the Chiron's comfort and road going manners. The new Michelin Pilot Sport 2R's have been a major factor in this.
The Pur Sport still has the familiar Chiron lines, but with a more aggressive stance, no more so than when looking from behind at the gargantuan 2 metre rear wing. Interior swaps leather for a more purposeful alcantara trim.
If you'd like to buy one, you can't! All 60 examples have been pre-sold, despite the enormous £3.4m price tag.
