The new era for Lotus continues with the 2022 introduction of the stylish, mid-engined Emira sports car.
Two choices of engine are available, a 2.0 litre turbo 4-cylinder from AMG, or the classic 3.5 litre supercharged Toyota V6, with up to 400hp and 430Nm on offer. Around 180mph and 0-60mph in 4 seconds are achievable.
Although no featherweight like the outgoing Elise/Exige, the Emira weighs in at a respectible 1400Kg. The optional Driver's Pack, complete with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres, ensures thr Emire handles like a Lotus should.
The Emira is a visual delight, with the sleek, Evija-like looks of supercars costing many times as much. The interior is a world away from Lotus' of old, with state of the art dashboard and infotainment systems and a plethora of advanced safety features.
With Lotus' new image of modern tech coupled with improved quality and reliability, the Emira represents astounding value from just £60k in the UK. The Emira will be launched with the £76k V6 powered 'First Edition' in mid-2022.
