Dubai based Devel's 16 hypercar has what must be the longest gestation period of any modern hypercar. First announced way back in 2013, most considered the outlandish claims of up to 5000hp as vaporware. However, during the subsequent nine years, we've had snippets of info, concept test footage and video of racing engines, cumulating in the first customer car in 2022.
Disappointingly, this first example is powered by a mere V8, but future variants are promised with the full-fat V16 and close to 3000hp.
Whatever the final specs, there's no doubting the astounding road presence the 16 posesses. A Le Mans style cab forward cockpit flows down over 5 metres to a sculptured rear end, with what appears to be a pair of Saturn 5 rockets attached!
SupercarWorld will use the claimed 3000hp figure as the engine was dyno'd at well over that, but with the caveat of dropping it if future tests say otherwise.
