Following on from the pioneering SF90, Ferrari introduce the plug-in hybrid 296 GTB for 2022. Strangely, the 296 is not a replacment for the F8 Tributo, but a new model in it's own right.
Boasting an 812 Competizione matching 819bhp, transmitted through a superfast 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox to the rear wheels, the 296 hits 100kmh in under 3 seconds.
For an 800hp supercar, a fuel economy of 44mpg is a fantastic achievment. It will even travel 25km on electric power alone.
The 296 is one of the best looking Ferraris of the modern era, with hints of SF90 and 250LM. The interior is state of the art, with full digital instrumentation. Although the steering wheel is still quite a cluttered affair. As with the SF90, Ferrari's current 'Assetto Fiorano' handling and styling pack is available as an option.
The 296 is such a complete supercar, you wonder why anyone would pay twice the price for the only marginally quicker, and worse looking SF90?
