Profile |

Based on the Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead, the Hyperion (named after a Greek god) is the handywork of legendary Italian styling house Pininfarina.
First revealed at the 2008 Pebble Beach concours, the retro styling of the Hyperion was influenced by the classic roadsters of the 1930s. Apart from the loss of the rear seats, visual changes included LED headlamps, a totally redesigned rear (featuring yacht-like teak inlays) and even a detachable custom timepiece by Girard-Perregaux.
The Phantom's 6.75 litre V8 remained unmolested, with it's 'adequate' 450hp enough to move it's 2 ton bulk to 60mph in under 6 seconds.
Originally an individual commission in 2008, the Hyperion subsequently sold for a reputed £4m. However, it has since been up for sale for many years at a prestige Dubai dealership without any takers, even at half the original cost.
