BMW heralds the return of a famous badge with the 2022 M4 CSL.
The M4's 3-litre straight 6 receives a 40hp power increase. Coupled with a weight loss of 100kg, 0-200km drops to just a shade over 10 seconds. The Nurburgring lap is despatched in an impressive (but not class leading) 7min 15sec.
The CSL is a strict 2-seater with carbon bucket seats. As expected in this track biased M4, ceramic brakes, adaptive suspension, Sport Cup 2Rs and 10-stage traction control come as standard.
Special as it may be, the CSL is a full £50k more expensive than the M4 Competition. You'd have to be a serious CSL fan to justify such a hefty increase over the already impressive M4, or the similarly priced Porsche GT3.
