The Mazda RX-Vision concept was revealed at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show, going on to win the 'most beautiful concept car of the year' award.
Powered by the SKYACTIV-R next-gen rotary engine, reliability and fuel consumption are both improved, somewhat addressing the major concerns over previous rotary engined cars.
Created in just 10 months, the Vision featured Mazda's KODO design philosphy, meant to give the aluminium and carbon bodywork a dynamic, energetic appearance. It even has carbon fibre wheels.
Although conceived as a concept to showcase future design directions, it was hoped that the Vision may one day make it through to production in the form of the RX-9. Probably not going to happen now, as the world heads towards electric power.
