1976's Turin Motor Show saw the emergence of a rare 'wedge' shaped Ferrari concept, in the form of the 308 GT Rainbow.
Following on from his design of the Dino GT4, Bertone's Marcello Gandini was tasked with the styling of the Rainbow. This proved to be a short lived arrangement, as Ferrari subsequently returned to the curves of Pininfarina for future projects. However, the removable targa roof was a particular stand out feature that would see use in future Ferrari road cars.
The 308 GTB based V8 was good for around 260hp, transmitted through a 5-speed manual box.
After residing in the factory museum collection for years, the Rainbow was sold to a private individual following Bertone's liquidation in 2012.
