2004 saw Audi produce the futuristic RSQ concept, for inclusion in the 'iRobot' sci-fi movie.
Although a concept, the RSQ could actually move under it's own power, even though that was courtesy of a mere 4-cylinder engine.
The futuristic fibreglass bodywork in Audi's signature silver, sports several distinctive design elements. The unique rear-hinging doors are a standout feature, but despite appearing to have spherical wheels, the RSQ actually uses a conventional setup hidden behind the façade. The illuminated Audi logo is another nice touch.
The RSQ had elements from Audi's TT coupe, and was clearly influenced Audi's Le Mans concept, which in turn became the famous R8 road going supercar just 2 years later.
Three different stage RSQs were built for the film in just 10 weeks. The original now resides in Audi's Ingolstadt museum.
