After resisting the SUV market until the very last minute, Ferrari have now joined with their not quite an SUV (but an FUV) Purosangue.
More akin to a raised GTC4 Lusso than a fully blown SUV, the 'Pure Blood' is based on the Roma platform and initially powered by the 6.5 litre V12 from the 812, with an Urus beating 715hp in this trim. Top sped is 193mph, while 0-60mph takes a fraction over 3 seconds.
Ferrari's first production 4-door has many stand out design features, not least of which are the innovative 'floating' wheel arches, and the Rolls Royce style rear-hinged passenger doors. Stance is agressive - the rear wheels are an extraordinary 23 inches in diameter.
Modern tech includes Ferrari Active Suspension, F1-Trac and even 'grip estimation' ABS.
As expected, the Purosangue is not cheap, but a starting price of £313k is taking the mickey. This will surely jump to well over £400k once the necessary options are ticked, making it a good £150k more than even a high-spec Urus Performante. Ridiculous for a series production car, but there will still be a 2 year waiting list!
