Dodge has bid farwell to the Supercharged V8 Challenger with the almighty SRT Demon 170.
Running on E85, the 170 kicks out a mighty 1025bhp and 945 lbft of torque, sending this ultimate muscle car from 0-60mph in a world record 1.66 seconds, then on to the standing quarter mile in 8.9 sec (although these figures were on a prepped drag surface with 1ft rollout).
Externally, there's little difference over the 'standard' Demon, save for the subtle '170 Alcohol Injected' badging. As with it's less powerful stablemate, the 170 comes with just a driver's seat, for ultimate weight saving. There's even an optional parachute available!
Around 3300 examples will be produced, as expected mainly for the US market, with production ending late 2023. Prices there will be from around $100k, an astounding bargain considering the other-worldly performance. Hard to believe this dragster is fully road legal!
