Never has there been a more fitting vehicle in which to place electric motors than in the new Rolls Royce Spectre - their first electric car after 117 years as the ultimate luxury vehicle manufacturer.
The all electric Spectre is powered by two motors, one at the front, the other at the rear, generating a combined 577bhp and a generous 664 ft/lbs of torque. It certainly needs this power when moving almost 3000 kg of luxury car, but still manages a respectible 4.4 sec 0-60mph sprint. A hefty 102kWh battery also ensures a WLTP range of around 330 miles.
The svelte coupe bodywork has echoes of the Phantom Coupe, even retaining the signature (but now redundant) Spirit of Ectstacy topped front grille. The huge 23 inch alloys also don't look out of place. The interior is as lavish as ever, but this time seats only four passengers.
Production begins in 2023, with a purchase price from £332k plus options.
