The gorgeous Pininfarina styled 308 GTB was one of the most beautiful shapes ever to make it to production proving a worthy successor to the equally stunning 246. Available in coupe (GTB) and targa (GTS) forms, the 308's sensuous bodywork was originally crafted in glass fibre. This didn't prove popular with Ferrari traditionalists, so it reverted to steel from 1977. Fuel injection became standard in 1981 which had the tragic effect of strangling the 308's power and performance. The status quo was returned with the introduction of the 4-valves per cylinder Qv of 1982.
The 308 has proved to be Ferrari's biggest seller to date with over 12,000 produced between 1975 and 85.
