Porsche launched their second electric car (after the Taycan) in 2024, with the introduction of the Macan Turbo EV.
Electric motors provide a hefty 630bhp and 833 ft/lbs of torque, blasting the Macan off the line to 60mph in just 3 seconds, on to a decent 162mph max. Range is around 600km, with recharging of the 95 kWh battery from 10-80% in as little as 21 minutes! It's no lightweight though, coming in at over 5300 lbs.
The good looking bodywork is smoothed in comparison with the old version, dropping drag to just 0.25cf. The interior is naturally state of the art, with three Android powered TFT displays, supplemented by some welcome physical switches. However, it is more cramped inside than you might expect.
The Macan Turbo EV sees production from late 2024, with prices starting at £95k + options.
