The curiously named Yangwang is the hypercar branch of the huge Chinese BYD company, who have bought us the U9 hypercar for 2024. Over 1300hp is produced fby the quad electric motors, blasting the U9 to 60mph in the low 2 seconds. The 80 kWh battery allows a range of around 290 miles.
The U9 also looks the part, with a sleek body, 21 inch rims, a large rear wing and butterfly doors. The interior is also comfortable and feature packed, but perhaps not quite as special as equivalents from Ferrari and Aston Martin.
The U9 also has an unusual party trick. The suspension on all four wheels can be instantly adjusted on the fly, enabling the car to bounce up and down to music!
Considering the incredible performance and looks of this new hypercar, the asking price of under £200k is astonishing value for money, where a similar car from an established supercar manufacturer would be several times as much.
