Dutch track car specialist Donkervoort have superceded their DS range with the new F22 road rocket.
Power is courtesy of Audi's 2.5 litre twin-turbo, boosted to 500hp in the F22, transmited through a 5-speed manual with rev matching.. The blast to 60mph in this lightweight 750kg track beast takes just 2.4sec, with 125mph arriving 5 seconds later, then onto a near 180mph max.
Obviously the F22 is styled after the original Lotus Seven, but the Donkervoort's proportions allow it to accomodate larger passengers than is normally seen in this type of track car. You now laos get twin targa roof panels for a more premium feel.
Redesigned suspension geometry allows the F22 to corner at over 2g, coupled with 1.12g of braking power from a brand new system. It even has ride height adjustment for real world practicality.
Only 100 examples will be produced, each costing a hefty £210k. At four times the cost of a Caterham, it will have to work hard to justify this price.
