BMW M Division bought us the G90, the first hybrid M5, from 2024, available in both saloon (Sedan) and estate (Touring) formats.
The 4.4 litre twin-turbo V8 is now joined by an electric motor to produce a combined 717 bhp. However, the G90 has been criticised for gaining over 1000 lbs on the outgoing model. It still hits 60mph in around 3.5 sec, but this is no quicker than it's predecessor. Top speed is the ubiquitous 155mph (or up to 190mph with the optional M Driver's Pack).
Styling wise, the new M5 (specially in Touring guise) can look bulky, in no small part due to it's 5.1m length, but still cuts an agressive stance when viewed from certain angles. The interior is fully specced with new curved LED displays and all the kit you could ever ask for.
Priced from £111k in the UK, the estate version should prove popular, as there are currently no natural rivals.
