Hyundai launched the hot 'N' version of it's gen 3 i30 in 2018.
The 2-litre 16v engine kicked out 280ps (from 2021), allowing the 3000lb i30N to hit 60mph in around 5.6sec (DCT facelift model), on to a 155mph+ max speed.There were two transmission options - an 8-speed dual-clutch with paddleshift, or a traditional 6-speed manual. A choice of 5 driving modes can be switched on the fly, plus there's also launch control, rev matching and advanced stability control. It's not short on safety too, with Hyundai's cutting edge Smart Sense systems (including FCA, LFA, BCA and RCCA).
It's typical i30 on the outside (which is a good thing), with the addition of bigger wheels and spoilers. On the inside there's plenty of tech with Hyundais Performance Driving Data System giving Nisssan GTR like stats.
At £34k new it was wel prices, and even more of a bargain second-hand from £16k. Like all Hyundais, the i30N is known for it's reliability, but the overall ride and comfort is a little harsh.
