Lucid joins the ever growing hyperformance saloon market with their new 2023 Air Sapphire.
Thanks to 1234hp triple electric motors, acceleration is astronomical, with 0-60mph despatched in under 1.9sec, and onto a sub-9sec quarter mile. It even has a respectable EPA range of up to 427 miles.
The Sapphire comes with torque vectoring, track suspension and 10-piston carbon-ceramic brakes as standard. There's four selectable drive modes, ranging from smooth to track.
Looks wise, it edges the Plaid, with smooth lines and interesting details. Within the high-tech interior there are 18-way Alcantara trimmed massage seats, a huge wraparound digital instrument dashboard and an additional multifinction infotainment display.
The Sapphire is a superb all round prospect. Blisteringly fast, but also with huge features and practicality. It is a more refined product than it's arch rival the Tesla Model S, but then it should be at more than twice the price of a Plaid!
