The 1984 LA Auto Show saw the introduction of Bertone's stunning Ramarro concept car, just prior to the city's hosting of the Olympic Games.
Based on the 1984 Chevrolet Corvette C4, the Ramarro featured the 330hp/340 lbft V8 from the upcoming 1985 Corvette.
The striking green bodywork was related to the car's name (Ramarro is a green lizard found in Italy) and as a standout feature had futuristic sliding doors. The theme followed through into the lurid lizard skin textured green leather interior.
The Ramarro was a critical success, winning design awards in the mid 1980s, but the dated wedge look never made it into future production models.
The car now resides alongside other Bertone legends in the Volandia Museum near Milan in Italy.
