The Jaguar XJR-15 was conceived for a mega expensive one make road car race series during the early 90's. 20 wealthy people would part with $1,000,000 to purchase the car and participate in the series, with the winner receiving his car for free.
TWR were at the centre of development, basing the car on the Le Mans winning XJR-9 racer - right down to a lack of silencers or even a handbrake! Looks were stunning and performance was superb but handling was another matter. Most who experienced it were not too eager to go back for a second go!
It may have been lacking in the handling stakes, but the XJR-15 was a stunning looker and had the distinction of being the world's first carbon fibre bodied supercar.
