The 250,000th 911 was produced during the run of the Carrera 3.2, coinciding with the legendary models 25th anniversary.
The entire 911 range adopted the Carrera name for the 1984 season. The new 3.2 litre Carrera gained 200cc over its predecessors, plus uprated brakes and a more efficient fuel injection system. Power was also up to 231bhp allowing the Carrera to break the 150mph for the first time (in normally aspirated form).
It is a testament to Porsche's build quality that even the earliest Carrera 3.2's are still going strong today, and still popular enough to demand very respectable second hand prices.
