First shown at the 1995 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Audi TT is one of the few out and out concept cars that made it through to full scale production. The TT's stunning bodywork was complemented by its equally desirable interior. Detailed use of leather and aluminium set new standards in cabin design. The performance of the 4wd turbo 225bhp model is superb, with 60mph arriving in just over 6 seconds and onto a 150mph+ top speed.
Unfortunately for Audi the TT's progress has not been without controversy. A number of high speed accidents in Germany forced them to recall all TT's for suspension and stability control improvements - at a cost of nearly £200m (the revised models can be distinguished by their subtle boot spoiler).
