The original E30 M3 lived up to it's BMW motorsport badge as a shining example of a true drivers car. 4 cylinders were swapped for 6 in the sanitised, but still very capable, E36 M3 of 1993. A 321bhp 'Evo' version arrived in 95, bringing us up to date with the current 343bhp E46 M3 for 2001.
The latest model has combined the raw appeal of the E30 with the every day luxuries of the E36. Acceleration is strong right up to the limited 155mph top speed (186mph if removed!) and handling is superb thanks to the unobtrusive traction control system, allowing you to manually or sequentially explore all 9000 revs from the eager flat 6.
