  Lotus Exige  (2000 - 2002)

Profile

The track derived Exige coupe was intended for those who wanted an Elise with a harder edge. With it's specially developed race like Yokohamas and skirted and bespoilered appearance the Exige looked every bit the race car for the road.

Perfomance was up considerably on the Elise with a choice of 177 or 192bhp for lightning quick acceleration. Handling was exemplary, and braking was solid thanks to drilled and vented 11.5inch disks.

A little too rough and ready for everyday road use (although it did have the practicality of a hard top) the Exige made for a perfect track day car, as was Lotus's intention.
