Profile |
|
The Escort Cosworth succeeded the fabled Sierra Cosworth in 1992, taking on the mantle of the supercar for the man in the street. Performance of 0-60mph in 6 seconds with a 143mph max may seem tame by today's standards but at the time it had motoring journalists grasping for their typewriters (remember, it was 1992!).
As time has passed, the Cossie has gained an unfortunate reputation as a council estate chariot. However, as a forerunner to today's plethora of junior-supercar hot hatches, nothing can take away from it's legendary status.
