Profile |
|
Following on from it's recent re-style, the Honda NSX has now lost weight and beefed up it's handling to become the track day special NSX Type R. Around 100kg has been lost by binning regular NSX fittings such as PAS, airbags, sound insulation and even down to the use of thinner glass. Power supposedly remains at 276bhp but rumours abound of over 350! This, along with new shorter gear ratios, drops the 0-60mph sprint to just 4.4 sec.
The increased performance is more than matched by the improved handling. Stiffer suspension and underbody aerodynamics make the Type R a track day dream, clearly showing it's J series racing pedigree. The effect is completed by uprated 16 inch brakes, pin sharp steering and a true race car roar from the legendary V6. Scandalously, the Type-R is NOT destined for the UK!
