The amazing generation 3 Pontiac Firebird must represent the best value for money useable performance car there has ever been! For the equivalent of just 14,000 in the USA, a brand new Firebird could be yours with leather, electric seats, ABS and traction control - not to mention the small matter of a 300bhp V8.

This 5.7 litre unit from the C5 Corvette gives the Firebird a top speed of over 160mph, with 0-60mph acceleration in the low five seconds bracket. Steering and braking are good, the only downside being hard suspension giving a rather crashy ride, but for 14,000 who cares!
