Profile |

The Murcielago is the latest in a long line of legendary Lamborghini supercars, however this is the first to be produced under the auspices of new owners Audi.
First shown at the 2001 Frankfurt Motor Show, this is certainly the smoothest styled Lamborghini to date but critics point out that the design is too similar to the outgoing Diablo to be called cutting edge. Power may be up but so is weight so performance is only on a par with it's predecessor. Nevertheless, 571bhp gives sub 4 seconds to 60 acceleration and a top speed of over 205mph.
Where the Murcielago really stands out is in the quality of its finish. Audi have bought a new level of build quality, particularly to the interior, to put the new model on a par with the renowned longevity of their countrymen at Porsche.
