Successor to the legendary RS2 and RS4, the new Audi RS6 breaks tradition by being offered not only as an estate but also as a highly desirable super saloon.
444bhp and 4-wheel drive offer exceptional performance for a car of this size - the 0-200kmh dash taking a mere 18 seconds on it's way to a de-restricted 189mph maximum! Not only that but handling is a vast improvement on it's predecessors, thanks to Audi's advanced Dynamic Ride Control. DRC is capable of eliminating body pitch and roll which, when coupled with the already proven Electronic Stability Program, endows the RS6 with a new level of handling.
Whether the original C5 version RS6 betters the M5 or S-Type R remains to be seen, but in terms of sheer performance it leaves it's rivals standing.
Late 2004 saw a final roll out model called the RS6 Plus, with 473bhp and 174mph max.
