The Sport Clio V6 offers great hot hatch performance, a throaty mid-engined V6 and purposeful sportscar looks all for just £25,000. Unfortunately for the Clio V6 you can get 95% of the performance (and 110% of the handling) for £10,000 less in the form of the V6's little brother the Sport Clio 172.
To address this problem, 2003 saw Renault raise power in the V6 to 255bhp to keep a respectful performance gap to the 172 Cup and keep it in touch with the new even hotter hatchbacks from Ford and Nissan. However, we can't help thinking that £30k is an awful lot of money for a Renault.
