Profile |
|
On the surface the Maserati Coupe is little changed from it's 3200GT predecessor (apart from the sad loss of the trademark 'boomerang' tail lights). The real changes have been made under the skin. Enlarged to 4.2 litres, the new V8 is now normally aspirated (allowing greater control than the 3200's turbo unit) while a new 'Cambiocorsa' sequential gear shift is a £3k option. Ride is also improved thanks to the new 'Skyhook' adaptive damping system, although 'sport' mode could prove too harsh for typical British roads.
The Coupe now offers genuine seating for four adults - a major plus in this sector. With superb build quality, the sound and performance of the superb V8 and a spyder version also available, Maserati are surely onto a winner with the Coupe.
