Nissan Z-cars actually date back over 30 years, the new 350Z promises to be the best of the bunch to date.
Performance is respectable with 60mph arriving in around 6 seconds on to a limited 155mph top speed. A front to mid mounted engine plus integrated front and rear strut braces help ensure superb handling - as we've come to expect from the company that bought us the awesome Skyline.
For track day enthusiasts Nissan offer the 'Track Z' upgrade pack with bigger wheels and spoilers, and for open air fans a convertible version is also on the horizon.
At around £26,000 the 350Z should prove a serious competitor to established rivals like the Audi TT and Porsche Boxster.
