As if the R500 wasn't fast enough, Caterham have now announced the insane R500 Evo with no less than 250bhp in a 450kg body!
The Evo sees the ubiquitous Rover K-series pushed to it's absolute limits. Bored to 2 litres and pushing out an estimated 250bhp, surely the unit can't take much more. Let's just hope it can take the strain of repeated 0-60mph sprints in a fraction over 3 seconds! When the handling of the R500 is already so well respected, Caterham have mainly left well alone, save for the new adjustable dampers for track day perfectionists.
Just 3 Evo's were eventually sold, due not in small part to the whopping £42k price tag.
