The Alfa 147 GTA certainly offers decent performance and reasonable looks but what really makes it stand out is the best engine note this side of a Ferrari. The glorious 3.2 litre V6 throws out a very respectable 250bhp, more than enough for a front wheel drive car, traction control or not. Handling is adequate, helped by a quick steering rack, while braking inspires confidence from it's 12 inch vented discs.

23,000 gets you plenty of performance with plenty of kit (although leather is just an option), putting the GTA towards the top of the hot hatch pile.
