The Alfa 147 GTA certainly offers decent performance and reasonable looks but what really makes it stand out is the best engine note this side of a Ferrari. The glorious 3.2 litre V6 throws out a very respectable 250bhp, more than enough for a front wheel drive car, traction control or not. Handling is adequate, helped by a quick steering rack, while braking inspires confidence from it's 12 inch vented discs.
£23,000 gets you plenty of performance with plenty of kit (although leather is just an option), putting the GTA towards the top of the hot hatch pile.
