Following in the tradition of the legendary 2.7 RS of the early 70's, the 964RS shed excess flab through the extensive use of lightweight materials and a stripped out interior that saw it's weight drop by a substantial 140kg over the standard 964 Carrera.
The 964RS may have been highly desirable but it was also highly expensive retailing at £100000, double the price of a standard Carrera in 1994.
