Chevrolet's 2006 Corvette Z06 is a truly stunning piece of machinery that is right up there with the fastest and best handling european supercars.
The C6 Z06 sees the return of the classic 427cu inch V8, now in dry sumped format, kicking out a huge 512bhp. This is enough to propel the composite bodied beast to 60mph from rest in 3.7 seconds, with 100mph arriving only 4 sec later. Development was aided by the success of the C6R Le Mans racer, which may explain the Z06's remarkable 7:40 Nurburgring lap time - faster than a McLaren SLR or Pagani Zonda S!
The most powerful car GM has ever built is also it's best, and at under £60k, this must be the cheapest way there is of knocking on the door of the 200mph club. There's also talk of a 700bhp supercharged version on the way! Just one request ... please make some right hand drive!
