Profile |
|
It is a measure of how Porsche's engine development has progressed to see that the stunning new 997 GT3 outputs 409bhp from it's normally aspirated 3.6L flat six - a figure that surpasses the turbocharged 993 of just 8 years past.
The 997 model GT3 has lost none of it's predecessors hard edge but does bow to civility by featuring such 'luxuries' as traction control and air con. Even so, it still manages to lose a useful 30Kg over the standard 997. For the more enthusiastic, the automated systems can be 'relaxed' by hitting the dash mounted sport button.
The best looking 911 for years can be yours for a touch under £80,000. It is an oft overused phrase, but considering it's looks, performance and ability, the GT3 really is a bit of a bargain.
