Profile |
|
The all new Europa is aimed at the Lotus customer who wants the driving thrills of an Elise but with a few more concessions to practicality and creature comforts. With this in mind, it is the Elise itself that provides the Europa's base building blocks, coupled with the 2.0L turbo engine from the Vauxhall VX220. Practicality is addressed by an increase in headroom for easier access, along with a bigger boot.
Unfortunately, the Europa doesn't really fulfil it's brief. It lacks the involvement of the Elise and isn't up to the standards of rivals Audi and Porsche when it comes to GT comfort. Nevertheless, in isolation, it is still an admirable sports car.
Production ceased in 2010.
