In an attempt to address the poor build quality reputation of the original Tuscan, TVR launched the Tuscan II in 2006. The chassis was certainly improved over the outgoing model but still proved a handful on the limit. The 6 cylinder 4 litre engine produced a healthy 380bhp which, thanks to a low curb weight, gave the Tuscan a superb power to weight ratio. Acceleration to 60mph was claimed to take under 4 seconds.
Style wise the Tuscan II received a mild makeover, distinguishable by the new twin headlamps. The optional Sports Pack gave aircon, bigger alloys, bigger brakes, a sports exhaust and a mild power increase - but set you back an eye watering £10k extra.
As of 2007, TVR's future hangs in the balance with proposed changes of ownership and the closure of the famous Blackpool factory after nearly 60 years!
